Sometimes a bee will change her mind after she has stung and try to unwind her stinger. Bees have barbed stingers that get stuck in our elastic skin and then when they fly away their stinger gets left behind which is what ends up killing the bee. If you don't try to swat away a bee after she stings she will sometimes try to unwind herself by turning around in circles.
