On the morning of July 7, 1897, an ordinary day turned tragic for seven individuals who boarded the Inter-Urban Trolley in Bay City, unaware of the calamity that awaited them. As the trolley, carrying eight passengers and three railroad employees, made its way toward Saginaw, it plunged into an open drawbridge, resulting in the loss of precious lives. Eyewitnesses speculated that the conductor, possibly distracted by racing a nearby train, failed to notice the bridge was open, leaving little tim
