A charter fishing operator has died after his vessel capsized at the river mouth between Mooloolaba and Point Cartwright this morning. Police said the boat was navigating the bar before it was struck by a wave and the five people on board were thrown from the vessel as it overturned around 5am. It’s understood three men not injured in the incident managed to swim to shore, one was retrieved by a jetski and the captain was later found dead in the water.
