New to the Calvin M. McClung Digital Collection, photographs and ephemera from the Blue Circle Collection. The Blue Circle hamburger chain was founded by Homer Longmire in 1931 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The chain eventually grew to over 30 locations across the Southeast. Changing ownership a few times over the years, in January 2025, the last Blue Circle restaurant, located on Bluff City Highway in Bristol, Tennessee, closed for good.
