Action Comics runs alongside the Superman Rebirth run and actually starts first, technically, as its vol 1 fills in the gap between Lois and Clark and Superman vol 1. That said, you can totally just read Tomasi's run if you want. Action Comics focuses more on Superman himself and Superman focuses on the family dynamic. Hope that explains it all.

Pretty good. The Rebirth one shot is an epilogue to the storyarc before, The Last Days of Superman and is meh. The first two issues are solid. Then it sort of drags until 6. Issue #7 is one of the best issues of Rebirth, #8-9 is a solid storyarc. And #10-11 are a bit weaker, but still really good. Overall, so, far, a strong book.

Action Comics starts up with #957, no one shot beforehand. Now, if you want to be a perfectionist, you can read alternating titles every issue, just as they were published.
