Our goal is to preserve the site of the Milwaukee Road rail yard in South Cle Elum and to tell the story of the Milwaukee’s electrification and route through Washington and the Cascade mountains. The site is dedicated to the interpretation and preservation of the history of the Milwaukee Road’s western extension and electrification.

Oct 7, 2017 · The 5057 was one of 12 General Electric U25B locomotives purchased by the Milwaukee Road in 1965. They were initially assigned to the railroad’s most important freight trains between Chicago and Tacoma.

Feb 16, 2018 · The Renslow Trestle is a very visible and recognizable landmark for any Washington motorist traveling the Interstate. Located between Ellensburg and the Columbia River, the trestle was constructed as part of the Milwaukee Road’s Pacific Coast Extension from the Midwest to Puget Sound.
