GP20's, Milwaukee Road, Paducah built.
Dec 22, 2014 · My advice is to buy a proto 2000 gp9 and cut the high hood off and get the low nose, new cab, and air cleaner plus any other odds and ends you'll need. Some geeps had the number boards mounted on the nose as well. I can't remember who makes the cabs but I know you can find them and scratch build the number board.
Milwaukee Road GP20 Question | TrainBoard.com - The Internet's …
Mar 6, 2013 · I'm asking this because most of the rebuilt Paducha rebuilt geeps used 4 stacks. I've got an Atlas Geep here waiting to be chopped up, and I am little bit confused here as to which MILW geep I'd like to model. Any help or reference information would be appreciated.
the geep series - Trains Magazine - Trains News Wire, Railroad …
Dec 19, 2008 · The Milwaukee Road had a fleet of them for use on light rail branches. I would imagine that the fact that the GP7 came out years before the others was a major factor. Why buy a 1949 chevy, when you could buy something else, later, down the road a piece? The GP7 was better than what came before it, the F7. Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.

The GP35 was EMD's final four-axle road-switcher equipped with its rugged 567 prime mover. The model also established a new carbody design, which became the builder's standard through the late 1980s.
Milwaukee Road Re-built Little Joe E78 build - TheRailwire
Sep 6, 2019 · The regulating valve in the E78 was set at 90 psi, but the GP9's was set at 80, and either the brakestand was not cut out on the Geep or it malfunctioned. This was never determined, but explains why Hart's 10 psi applications were ineffective.

Mar 14, 2015 · I have all four of the Milwaukee Road Geeps of this type. The first one, road number 2338, did not come with electrocouplers. 2383 did have them, as did the GP-20 that came out around the same time. There was a dummy B unit made to go with the 2383.
Steam & Excursion > Top Speed - Trainorders.com
There is evidence the Milwaukee Road did test the 261 at something over 100 mph. I've heard different numbers, so won't repeat any of them. However, I'm told it routinely ran in passenger service at 85 to 90.
