YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– An active shooter situation locked down UPMC Memorial in York County, according to officials from West Manchester Township. Details are limited at this time, but officials from West Manchester Township have confirmed that it is an active shooter situation. Residents should avoid the area around UPMC Memorial.

State police troopers applied a tourniquet to the officer's leg after he had been injured, police chief wrote in a statement.

Officer Duarte had just celebrated his 30th birthday on Feb. 17, less than a week before Saturday’s shooting, according to the York County Coroner’s Office. He had been a West York police officer since June 2022 after serving five years with the Denver Police Department in Colorado.
