After a Penn State punt and a 7-yard sack, Indiana moved downfield behind Fernando Mendoza, who completed five passes for 87 yards. He threw a high pass to the back of the end zone for Cooper, who leaped and caught it over Zakee Wheatley.

Penn State's 27-24 loss to Indiana turned into a high-octane gem, even though the anticipated high stakes of September had been neutralized. The Hoosiers' hurry-up in front of 100,000-plus at Beaver Stadium culminated with Mendoza's 7-yard toss to Omar Cooper Jr. in the back of the end zone, who dazzled despite solid coverage and came down with the football with his left toe inbounds to push Indiana ahead.
