The United States is committed to working with the Kenya-led multinational security support mission in Haiti, but its numbers need increase to restore peace and stability to the country, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday.

A third contingent of Kenyan police have arrived in Haiti to help repel violent gangs as officials brushed off concerns of a halt in some U.S. funding to the U.N.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen saw off the contingent of 144 police officers, that included 24 female officers. Kenya has already sent 600 officers to Haiti.
