Glastonbury, the world's largest greenfield music festival, opened its gates on Wednesday to around 200,000 ticket holders who will see performers ranging from Olivia Rodrigo to Rod Stewart and Charli xcx.

Under cloudy skies thousands of people descended on Glastonbury Festival earlier as music lovers spent the day carrying, pushing and pulling a weeks worth of possessions across the green grass and mud tracks of the site. Festival founder Michael Eavis also put in a rare appearance much to the joy of those entering the site.

Thousands of people have poured into Worthy Farm after the gates officially opened for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. Co-founder Sir Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily Eavis, who now runs the festival,
