Here's what the Old Farmer's Almanac spring 2025 forecast predicts for Northern and Southern California, and across the U.S. this spring 2025.

The Farmers' Almanac predicts a “Thunder and Zing Spring” for 2025 across much of the United States, though Texas is forecast to be mostly dry.

The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its spring forecast. Mississippi looks warm and wet. Be ready for more storms, severe weather than usual.

As for spring holidays, Easter Sunday, April 20, is predicted to be “fair, then unsettled.” Meanwhile, Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, is forecasted to be damp; the Indianapolis 500 could be wet.

The NOAA and Old Farmer's Almanac use different methods of forecasting, but both organizations issue seasonal predictions.

"For May, the entire region will experience above-normal temperatures and rainfall," The Old Farmer's Almanac says. "Much of Kentucky, southern Illinois and Indiana, and neighboring areas will begin April with below-normal temperatures and precipitation, while it will be normal elsewhere."

A long-running weather publication has announced its predictions for spring, which is less than two months away. Here's the outlook for Illinois.

The Almanac lists the Southeast as Region 4 out of 18, which encompasses the Carolinas and Georgia. Temperatures in this region will be near average along the coast and above normal in the western parts of the region (3 degrees F above average in April, 4 degrees F above in May). Overall, rainfall will be near normal.

The famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, just predicted six more weeks of winter. Here in Texas, where much of the state has seen highs in the 80s this week, Beaumont’s Big Al agreed, and the armadillo Bee Cave Bob did too – but shortened the extended winter by three weeks.
