The two actors represent the two eras of Buffy, with Gellar set to pass on her slayer baton to Armstrong, last seen in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, during the pilot episode of the upcoming Buffy reboot. Gellar, who is also an executive producer on the series, will then continue to appear albeit in a recurring role.

The cast of Hulu's upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot keeps growing, as The Studio star Chase Sui Wonders has now joined the production. The actor is reuniting with her I Know What You Did Last Summer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is returning as Buffy Summers over 20 years after the end of the popular show.

On August 11, Deadline reported that Chase Sui Wonders ( The Studio) had joined the reboot. According to the outlet, Wonders will play a vampire named Shirley, and she’ll appear as a guest star in the pilot, directed by Chloé Zhao.
