Anthropic, the company behind the AI assistant Claude, – used much like ChatGPT – has announced a sweeping $50 billion investment in American computing infrastructure — with Texas set to be one of the key sites for new, state-of-the-art data centers designed to power the next generation of AI research and development.
(Reuters) -AI startup Anthropic said on Wednesday it would invest $50 billion in building data centers in the U.S., the latest multi-billion-dollar outlay in the industry as companies race to expand their artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Investing.com -- Anthropic, makers of the Claude line of AI models, announced a $50 billion investment in American computing infrastructure on Wednesday, building custom data centers in Texas and New York in partnership with Fluidstack.
Earlier this year, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law Senate Bill 53, which would require large model developers like Anthropic and Open AI to be transparent about safety measures they put in place to prevent catastrophic events.
