'Alien: Earth" oozes into Comic-Con Day 2, 'Predator: Badlands' slays and 'Tron: Ares' dazzles
Con. Disney unveiled details about “Tron: Ares,” which stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges and Greta Lee at an evening presentation in Comic-Con's famed Hall H. It will be the third feature film in the “Tron” franchise that kicked off with the hit 1982 film and had a 2010 sequel,
"Alien: Earth" arrives in less than a month, and I'm getting increasingly excited (and a little worried) about my most anticipated TV show of 2025.
Timeline-wise, it jumps way back. Each story sits in its historical pocket, way before almost all the other Predator or Alien movies. These are the oldest Predator hunts we’ve seen—unless you count Prey from 1719, which barely squeaks in earlier.
Alien, Predator, Tron, Demon Slayer, and Five Nights at Freddy’s head up our list of exciting panels at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
Since “Alien: Earth” features more Xenomorph screen time than ever before, making sure the updated design looked great on camera was a top priority. Gonzales explained in the interview that while the series uses CGI in post-production, the Xenomorph itself is completely practical: “It’s 100% real.”
The Maginot is a science vessel that has collected alien samples though, and that means the xenomorph is not the only creature that’s made it to our planet. This was another piece of the puzzle when it came to maintaining the horror and ick factor from the original movie.
Set in 2120, just two years before the events of the original Alien, Alien: Earth introduces viewers to Wendy (Sydney Chandler), a twelve-year-old girl put into a synthetic adult body by Prodigy, one of five mega corporations on the planet, along with the familiar antagonist company Weyland-Yutani.
Well, speculation no more. A newly released trailer for “ Predator: Badlands ” isn’t leaving anything to the imagination as Elle Fanning ‘s character is indeed a Weyland-Yutani android, confirming the project is indeed a crossover with the “ Alien ” franchise (the first major attempt with a solo “ Predator ” film).
"Alien: Earth" is landing soon. From the stimulating looks of this bloody-good new trailer for the 8-episode " Alien: Earth " series from "Fargo" creator Noah Hawley's, the visionary filmmaker has no hesitation to terrify viewers when the ambitious sci-fi series hatches on FX and Hulu starting on Aug. 12, 2025.
According to Hawley, “Alien: Earth” unfolds during the height of the Corporate Era, when a Weyland-Yutani vessel transporting alien lifeforms crash-lands on Earth, specifically on land owned by a powerful tech giant called the Prodigy Corporation.
Per Variety, FX as a network and showrunner Noah Hawley are aiming for Alien: Earth to hit at the same level as mega-blockbuster genre shows Game of Thrones and The Last of Us. In other words, a sweeping drama that draws in fans with a web of interconnected characters and stories, centered on a core cast.
