NEW YORK – The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) has opened an investigation into the death of DaShawn Larode, who died on November 17, 2025 following an encounter with members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in Brooklyn.

The incident began around 6 a.m. when police responded to reports of shots fired on Thomas S. Boyland St. near Linden Blvd. in Brownsville.

The New York Police Department released new photos of a woman who is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting.

Officer Sharjeel Waris, 25, was guarding evidence in the vestibule when the killer suddenly opened his apartment door and fired a shotgun.
