A webcam at the summit of Wildcat Mountain caught the avalanche on film, as well as a snowboarder who escaped the slide. The footage, shared on social media by observatory officials, showed the snowboarder dropping into the bowl with the snow fast on their heels just before 1:30 p.m. local time.
