The fast-casual seafood chain has now emerged from bankruptcy and to lure diners back, a beloved menu item has returned.

In addition to those new menu items, Red Lobster is also bringing back Popcorn Shrimp and Hush Puppies. Red Lobster's new CEO, Damola Adamolekun, said there was “a social media riot over us taking off the hush puppies a few years ago.

Hush puppies, once a staple on Red Lobster’s menu, are coming back. It’s part of broader changes at the chain, which recently emerged from bankruptcy and is now under the control of a 35-year-old CEO hoping to turn around the seafood restaurant chain’s fortunes.

“You stress out the kitchen. You stress out the servers. You stress out the host. People can’t get a table,” Adamolekun told CNN. The new CEO would love to find a way to bring back the popular promotion, but he says shrimp is “very expensive product to give away endlessly.”

Red Lobster has a young new CEO on the job and that means changes to the menu. Although some menu items will be cut, there's one fan favorite that's returning.
