Spanning across nine communities, the Woodward Dream Cruise is back. Since 1995, the event has become a staple in Metro Detroit. Cruising down Woodward Avenue, people can spot every car there is. From luxury, muscle, to antiques, there's something that will catch your eye.

The Dream Cruise started as a fundraiser for soccer fields and quickly grew to become one of the nation's biggest car events.

So, here are some highlights from Friday, Aug. 15, from earlier in the day, when you could actually drive one mile on certain parts of Woodward in less than 15 minutes. You'll see photos of Ford vehicles parked on 9 Mile Road in Ferndale, along with a fantastic collection of historic emergency vehicles.
