At least two tornadoes have been confirmed on the ground in parts of Texas Friday afternoon and thousands of residents are without power and dealing with flash flooding.
Yet again, another round of severe weather is set to threaten the central U.S. with damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes starting late Tuesday and continuing through Thursday.

In its latest press release, NWS in Shreveport said a Tornado Warning was in effect for northeastern McCurtain County in southeastern Oklahoma, effective until 5:00 PM CDT Friday. The warning was activated at 4:16 PM CDT after radar detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Southeast Texas counties in the Brazos River Valley until 9 p.m. Friday.
A life-threatening outbreak of long-lived and strong tornadoes is expected today in parts of the central and eastern US from a powerful, wide-reaching spring storm.
A tornado was on the ground in Canton, Texas on Friday, the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed. This comes as warnings have been issued in other areas - including parts of Kaufman, Van Zandt, Navarro, Henderson, Hopkins, Delta, and Lamar counties.

Friday is a First Alert Weather Day due to the chance of storms. All of North Texas is under a slight risk for severe storms on Friday. There's also a significant hail threat for parts of North Texas. Hail 2 inches in diameter or larger is a possibility.
