WASHINGTON D.C. -- The Biden administration is yet again extending the pause on federal student loan payments, a benefit that began in March 2020 to help people who were struggling financially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a source familiar with the plan said.

The Chancellor froze student loan repayment thresholds until 2030 on plan 2, meaning more low earners will start repaying 9% of their salary sooner.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves said on Wednesday that the salary threshold at which graduates on “Plan 2” loan schemes begin to repay their student debt would remain frozen at £29,385 for three years from April 2027. Once students earn over this salary threshold, 9 per cent of their earnings are deducted to cover their student loans.
