Nugent-Hopkins' ability to affect a game at both ends of the ice and raise his performance gained the appreciation of all of the roster – especially Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner, who stopped 33 of 34 shots on Sunday.

Zach Hyman had two goals and an assist, Connor McDavid added two goals and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars 6-1 on Sunday, taking a 2-1 lead in their Western Conference final series.

McDavid makes things happen for the Oilers, but so far this offseason few pucks had gone in the net off his stick.

The Edmonton Oilers will win Game 3 of the Western Conference Final this afternoon against the Dallas Stars per NHL 25. The reigning Stanley Cup Final runner-ups defeated the Stars 1-0 on the simulation.

The London Knights won their opening game at the Memorial Cup in overtime, beating the Moncton Wildcats 3-2 in overtime. Edmonton Oilers prospect Sam O'Reilly scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

On Sunday afternoon at Rogers Place, the Oilers got more than what they normally need from Skinner. He stole some big moments in the middle of the game, when the Oilers were being outplayed by the Stars. He was named the game’s first star for his 33-save effort. He was spectacular by any measure in his team’s 6-1 win.

DeBoer was not happy with the decision from officials, after which Edmonton scored two goals in less than 40 seconds.
