The Southwest Incident Management Team 4 has assumed command of the Cody Fire burning near Oracle.In a Friday evening update, the Coronado National Forest said the fire was still around 1,200 acres and 5% contained.

They had been concerned about the Cedar Fire and had loaded up a trailer with some of their belongings in case they needed to evacuate, but by Wednesday, their worries were gone.
As the Cody fire, now spanning over 1,200 acres according to the Coronado National Forest, continues near Oracle, more than 1,100 people have been advised to evacuate. But, residents have stepped up to help neighbors in need.
The Southwest Area Incident Management Team 4 has now taken the lead on the Cody Fire as of Friday morning. They add around 70 more personnel, bringing the number to 400 assigned to fight the flames.
