Yorkmark's work during the latest era of conference realignment and a changing college sports landscape has earned the commissioner a contract extension.

Brett Yormark was relatively unknown in the world of college sports when the Big 12 hired him as its commissioner in 2022. Three years later, his name has become synonymous with the conference. So much so that the Big 12’s board of directors has voted to give Yormark a three-year contract extension.

It appears that after rumors circulated about Brett Yormark possibly returning to the NBA, he will remain in the Big 12 with a three-year extension.
