All of South Texas will be under a red flag warning on Sunday, November 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as a cold front moves in.
Though, November and into December is when the Texas Panhandle typically sees its first snow, says AJ Harrel. So, streets could be sprinkled or even lined in white powdery precipitation very soon. The strong cold fronts that actually sweep the state were slow to start this year, but they're picking up a consistent rhythm as November unfolds.
Weather conditions behind the cold front in South Texas will be very dry and windy, elevating the fire danger risk.
Along with cooler temperatures, the Texas A&M Forest Service says there is the potential for higher wildfire activity in the lower Gulf Coast and South Texas due to high winds and low relative humidity.
Dry and windy conditions will combine to create high to very high fire danger across Central Texas on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
