As the race for NYC mayor heats up, Andrew Cuomo and fellow candidate New York State Sen. Jessica Ramos are expected to announce a ranked choice voting alliance Friday.

Progressive mayoral candidate and state Sen. Jessica Ramos endorsed Andrew Cuomo on Friday, making a surprising about-face from her previous criticism of the former governor as a “remorseless bully.” A spokesperson for Ramos’ campaign confirmed her endorsement and said she is not dropping out of the race,

The decision by Ms. Ramos, a state senator from Queens, is at odds with some of her past criticism of Mr. Cuomo, including comments questioning his “mental acuity.”
