Fort Worth police are investigating the second death this week that is believed to be cold weather-related in the wake of a large winter storm.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police say a motorcyclist is dead after being hit by another vehicle on Interstate 35W and East Belknap St this morning.

A woman and a young child were taken to Fort Worth hospitals in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash on Texas 114 near Rhome Thursday afternoon. At around 3:45 p.m., a sedan, occupied by the critically injured woman and child,

Alana Lee Parker, 28, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault after a two-vehicle crash in Southeast Fort Worth early Sunday morning.

According to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, police identified the suspect as Alana Lee Parker and say she was booked into the Fort Worth Police Department Detention Facility at 5:39 a.m. The station reports that Parker faces a third-degree felony charge of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury as traffic units continue their investigation.

An 18-year-old was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, according to jail records.

Travel conditions across Fort Worth and North Texas are not considered safe for driving on Sunday, as ice continues to build on most roads and temperatures stay well below freezing.
