Tom Cruise has some key advice for the next wave of actors. As one of the biggest movie stars in the world, he didn’t attend film school or have a technically trained background. Instead, Cruise told the audience on Monday while receiving the British Film Institute Fellowship honor that he learned his skills by watching movies.
The four-time Oscar nominee was in the city as a recipient of the BFI's highest honor, the award of BFI Fellowship. To celebrate the occasion, Cruise took the stage at BFI Southbank for a conversation moderated by DJ and presenter Edith Bowman.

In video footage obtained by Discussing Film, the 62-year-old actor could be seen standing on the roof of the BFI IMAX building in London — one of the largest cinemas in the United Kingdom — on Sunday, May 11. Deadline confirmed from sources close to the star that the man standing on the roof was indeed Cruise.
