After further evaluation of Corey Seager’s right hamstring strain, the Rangers on Tuesday decided the right approach was to take a step back and wait for his hamstring injury to heal rather than to try to manage it.

Seager is on the IL for the second time this season, with the latest move retroactive to Sunday. He had played in only five games since being activated May 3 after missing 10 games with a right hamstring strain.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager will head to the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, the same injury that previously put him on the IL. The move is retroactive to May 11. Seager last played in a game on Saturday, going 2-for-3 with two home runs, in a 10-3 win over the Detroit Tigers, but has missed four of the last five games.
