Rain will remain a player in the forecast into next week, and most spots in Alabama could get an inch or so through the next seven days, according to NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center (see the seven-day precipitation outlook at the top of this post).
On Sunday, the highest area of risk shifts into the southern Plains, especially the Texas Panhandle into western-north Texas and southwest Oklahoma, where thunderstorms could deliver strong winds and large hail, with a moderate risk for tornadoes.
The Storm Track 8 Weather Impact team is tracking the return of severe thunderstorms on Wednesday.
Leaders in Matagorda County issued a disaster declaration on Thursday due to ongoing severe weather. The declaration allows local authorities to do what they need to do to respond to issues caused by the storms and ensure their residents are safe.
Pensacola will see some risk of severe thunderstorms through Monday night, with the threat of severe weather subsiding by Tuesday. The Pensacola area should still expect to see heavy showers and possible thunderstorms through at least Tuesday. That doesn’t mean Wednesday will bring any relief, however.
