Former Air Force Under Secretary Gina Ortiz Jones was elected San Antonio’s next mayor on Saturday, prevailing over Rolando Pablos in a runoff race that turned fiercely partisan in the closing weeks.

Ms. Jones, a former under secretary of the Air Force under the Biden administration, prevailed over Rolando Pablos, a conservative with ties with to Gov. Greg Abbott.
