A magnitude 3.0 earthquake centered in New Jersey briefly shook NYC Saturday night, prompting emergency guidance but no major damage.

The epicenter of the 3.0-magnitude quake, which struck around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, was near Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

Officer Didarul Islam, 36, who was guarding the building on a paid security job when he was killed, had served as a police officer in New York City for over three years. He was an immigrant from Bangladesh and was working a department-approved building security job when he was shot.

Police executed a search warrant at the Las Vegas apartment of Shane Tamura, where the items obtained included a goodbye note and a bipod for a rifle.
