As I pointed out in our Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning review, that sort of reverence is also present in director Christopher McQuarrie ’s current box office hit. Short of watching all of the prior films with a Paramount+ subscription, this is one of the best sequels to use as an introductory point to new fans.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning lives up to its name, bringing nearly three decades of explosive storytelling to a gripping, full-throttle conclusion. The film connects the dots across all seven previous installments while showcasing a digital glimpse of a younger Tom Cruise—nostalgia meets next-generation danger.

The Final Reckoning will supposedly mark the last time Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie team up for this long-running action franchise, but it certainly won’t be their final collaboration altogether.
