According to a report from Ben Goessling with The Minnesota Star Tribune, the Lions will travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings on Christmas Day this year.
The Vikings and Broncos have each played on Christmas a total of four times. Minnesota is 1–3 in those games and Denver is 2–2. Neither of the two played well during their last Christmas appearance, with the Vikings losing to the Saints 52–33 in 2020 and the Broncos getting crushed by the Rams 51–14 in 2022.
Tickets are on sale now for all Detroit Lions regular season games, including five prime-time games and divisional matchups on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The Cowboys/Commanders game will air 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Day, while the Lions/Vikings will face off at 4:30 p.m. ET. CBS Sports will produce the game coverage with NFL Media producing pregame, postgame and studio halftime programming.
Detroit has played twice previously on Christmas Day and is 0-2, with losses in 1994 and 1999. The rumored game against the Vikings would be part of a Christmas tripleheader streamed live on Netflix. One other game has been announced for that day, a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos.
According to Fox insider Jordan Schultz, the Detroit Lions are scheduled to play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 1.
