Minnesota United FC got the best of Lionel Messi and Inter Miami both on the pitch and on social media during Saturday's 4-1 blowout victory. And they did so much to the chagrin of Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham, who called out the club's social-media posts in the aftermath:

Lionel Messi’s goal — which won’t make any of his career highlight reels — gave Loons fans a thrill (and a scare) when he slotted in a shot to cut MNUFC’s lead to 2-1 in the 48th minute. MNUFC (6-2-4, 22 points) went on to nullify the threat with two more goals and hand Miami (6-2-3, 21 points) only its second loss on the season.

Inter Miami were on the receiving end of a 4-1 defeat against Minnesota United in the Major League Soccer on May 10 at Allianz Field. This loss marked to be the most crushing one that the Herons have faced since Lionel Messi joined the club in July 2023.
