Since the inaugural event two years ago, the Cup and Xfinity series have been affected by inclement weather. After both series’ races were shortened by thunderstorms in 2023, the Cup Series ended 17 laps short of the full distance last year because of rain delays.

NASCAR fans are calling for a change to the Cup Series schedule following this weekend's race in Atlanta. The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series arrived in Atlanta over the weekend. The Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart took place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

There are three more Saturday races remaining on the Cup Series schedule -- Richmond, the annual regular season finale at Daytona and the Bristol night race. Eight regular season races remain on the Cup Series schedule, starting with the Chicago Street Course next Sunday, July 6.
