India has permitted the International Civil Aviation Organisation to act as an observer in the investigation into the deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad.

Investigators have begun analyzing data from the black boxes recovered from the Air India Boeing 787 jet that crashed earlier this month, killing 270 people.

India has declined an offer from a UN aviation investigator to assist in the investigation of the Air India crash that resulted in 274 fatalities. The decision comes amid criticism from safety experts regarding delays in analysing crucial black box data.
