Greg Abbott said during a Friday morning briefing that it will be an "extraordinarily challenging summer" as the state works to prevent the spread of the flesh-eating New World screwworm. Abbott said one of the biggest challenges facing officials is monitoring deer and other wildlife outside of farms that could carry the parasite and spread it further across Texas.
