National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists have issued winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories for 13 states as of Thursday morning as winter storms unleash impacts across the Northern Plains, Midwest, and Northeast.

Winter storms are forecast to bring heavy snows and bitter winds across the regions.

Two storms moving through the Midwest and Northeast are being supercharged by a system on the West Coast. Blizzard warnings are in effect in West Virginia.

Friday will be the calm before the storm. The forecast is calling for snow to arrive in the area Saturday night. “The balance of today should be notably less brutal than yesterday, with winds mostly staying in the 10-15 mph range with notably lower and fewer gusts,

Minnesota’s Weather Authority has issued a Forecast First Alert from Tuesday through early Wednesday as our next winter storm moves in. This system will bring a messy mix of snow, freezing rain, and rain to parts of the state,

TONIGHT: COLD WEATHER ADVISORY from 12 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM SUNDAY. Snow moves out. Clouds decrease in the early morning hours. Low temperatures will bottom out near 0 degrees, if not just below. Wind chill values of -10 to -20 are possible.
