Jay Jones faced calls to drop out of the race in September after violent text messages he sent in 2022 resurfaced.

“There’s nothing about death,” Trump said. “Theirs is death because they’re going to lose Medicaid, they’re going to lose Social Security, they’re going to lose Medicare, all of those things are going to be gone because the whole country would be bankrupt, and you’re not going to have any kind of medical insurance.”

It’s still very early, but as results trickle in, there are signs of ticket splitting in Virginia. The open question is whether it will be enough to alter the race in the closely watched attorney general contest.
