Californians with iPhones and Apple Watches will now be able to store digital versions of their driver's licenses and identification cards on their devices, state officials announced.

Adding a license or ID to the Apple Wallet can be done in a few easy steps. Californians can tap the + button at the top of the screen in Wallet on their iPhone, select “Driver’s License or State ID,” and follow the on-screen instructions to start the setup and verification process.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office on Thursday announced that the state now offers residents the chance to securely add their California driver’s license or state-issued ID to Apple Wallet on their iPhone and Apple Watch. Residents can then use this feature at select businesses and TSA checkpoints at airports in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
