Washington State may soon make a major move in funding transportation infrastructure. On Tuesday, Washington State Transportation Committee Chair Jake Fey introduced House Bill 1921, which would phase in a road usage charge for drivers.

The future for Washington drivers may include a pay-per-mile system. Some state lawmakers are seeking to offset declining gas tax revenue, as cars get more fuel efficient and electric vehicles get more popular.
