Two cash-in-transit security guards were shot during an alleged robbery on the N2 southbound highway on Wednesday.

A Toyota Corolla Cross believed to have been involved in a recent cash-in-transit heist, as well as a previous hijacking, was found abandoned in a field.

The Toyota Cross had also been linked to a hijacking case reported in late January. No arrests have been made.
