As the race for NYC mayor heats up, Andrew Cuomo and fellow candidate New York State Sen. Jessica Ramos are expected to announce a ranked choice voting alliance Friday.

Ramos is staying in the race, but because her low polling numbers and inability to raise money make it impossible for her to prevail, she is asking voters to rank Cuomo first. CBS News New York's Marcia Kramer reports.

The decision by Ms. Ramos, a state senator from Queens, is at odds with her frequent criticism of Andrew M. Cuomo, including comments questioning his “mental acuity.”
