LANSING, MI -- A trip to visit her sister ended up with a Lansing woman winning a huge prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky for Life game. Kathy Forquer, 67, won a prize worth $25,000 a year for life or 20 years, whichever is greater, after matching all five white numbers drawn -- 13-18-25-27-30 -- in the Feb. 10 drawing.

A Michigan Lottery player won a $3.98 million Lotto 47 jackpot in Saturday night’s drawing. A single ticket matched all six numbers — 17, 25, 34, 37, 39 and 42 — to claim the prize. The winning ticket was purchased at Bryan’s Market, 6002 N. Lapeer Road in North Branch, about 40 miles northeast of Flint.
