Multiple people have been arrested at a Palestine Action protest in Parliament Square, London. Metropolitan Police officers circled dozens of protesters who held up placards stating: "I oppose genocide.

The protest group was officially classified as a terrorist organisation from midnight on Saturday after the measure received overwhelming support from MPs and following the failure of a last-minute legal challenge to delay it.

Twenty-nine people have been arrested in London after police said they were responding to a protest in support of the banned group Palestine Action. The Metropolitan Police said those arrested were being held on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000 and had been taken into custody.
