Prosecutors’ crash reconstruction expert testified about the sudden acceleration Read’s SUV made and what injuries are consistent with a car crash.

The Karen Read trial was back in a Massachusetts courtroom as the prosecution called its final witness then rested its case.

Welcher received a report on May 8 from Shanon Burgess, his colleague, who found “new information that changed the timing,” he said. Burgess’s report concerned a “clock variance” between Read’s SUV and O’Keefe’s iPhone that lined up the time she backed up her car and O’Keefe’s last interaction with his phone.
