Sony's State of Play closed out with an extensive look at Sony Santa Monica's next adventure game starring Faye, the deceased wife of Kratos.

Laufey—a full PS5 entry and not a side-scrolling spin-off—with a staggering 20-minute gameplay showcase that confirms Faye, Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, is the protagonist. Deborah Ann Woll of the Daredevil-fame returns to play this character in the latest PlayStation title.

Sony has officially announced God of War Laufey, a new spinoff set in the God of War universe that puts Kratos' wife, Faye, in the lead role. The game was revealed during State of Play 2026 alongside a lengthy gameplay showcase.
