Chip manufacturer Nvidia has become the first company in history to hit a $4 trillion dollar market capitalisation on Wall Street, after a rapid rise in value over recent months (per the Financial Times).

The U.S. chipmaker has had a remarkable march to record highs and has soared around 20% this year, thanks to its leading role powering the artificial intelligence boom.

Nvidia notched a market capitalization of $4 trillion on Wednesday, making it the first public company in the world to reach the milestone and solidifying its position as one of Wall Street's most-favored stocks.
