During this week's cold snap and winter storm, animal protection agencies in our area have been working non-stop to keep pets safe. Sadly, they've gotten many calls about people leaving their animals out in the elements.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Kids (and adults) weren’t the only ones to enjoy the snow across Central Texas Tuesday morning. KXAN viewers from across the region sent in photos of their pets, and wild animals alike, in the snow.

If it warms up enough during the day Tuesday, it’s possible for some of that accumulated snow and ice to melt, but snow or ice that sticks around Tuesday will refreeze Wednesday night, when temperatures are expected to plunge into the 20s or teens, Platt said.
